SAP-C02 Exam Format, Scoring, and Structure
Understand the logistics of the Professional-level AWS exam.
The SAP-C02 exam consists of 75 scenario-based questions that you must complete within a 180-minute (3 hours) time limit.
- Question Types: Multiple-choice (one correct answer, three distractors) and multiple-response (two or more correct responses out of five or more options).
- Scored vs. Unscored: Out of the 75 total items, 65 questions affect your score, while 10 questions are unscored and used by AWS to evaluate future exam content. Unscored questions are not identified during the test.
- Scoring: The exam is reported on a scaled score of 100 to 1,000, with a minimum passing score of 750. It uses a compensatory scoring model, meaning you only need to pass the overall exam rather than achieving a passing score in every individual section.
- Guessing: There is no penalty for guessing, but unanswered questions are scored as incorrect.
