Privacy Policy
The short version
Cosynced Inc. collects only what it needs to run your account and your learning, and to understand how people find and use Cosynced. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads. An analytics cookie is set only if you accept it. If you try Cosynced without an account, we store nothing about your learning.
What we collect
- Account: your name, email address and a secure hash of your password (never the password itself).
- Sessions: for each signed in device, its browser name and IP address, so you can see and end your sessions and we can protect your account.
- Learning: the courses you take, your answers to challenges, your progress and mastery, and any ratings, reviews or feedback you send.
- Subscription: your plan and its status. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store them.
- Creators: applications to become a creator, and the material creators upload to build their courses.
- Security: IP addresses are counted briefly to limit repeated attempts, and those counts are deleted within a day.
Cookies
One cookie keeps you signed in. It is set only when you sign in and is removed when you sign out. If you accept analytics in the banner, PostHog also keeps an anonymous id in a cookie on cosynced.com, so we can tell how visitors move from trying a course to creating an account. If you decline, nothing is stored. There are no advertising cookies.
Analytics
We use PostHog to see which pages people visit, where they come from (such as a link or a search), how they try courses, and where they stop on the way to subscribing. It may record sessions to show us where the site is confusing, with everything you type hidden. Once you are signed in, it knows you by an account number, never by your name or email. If you decline analytics, PostHog counts visits without any cookie or stored id. We count what signed in learners do, such as signups, progress and subscriptions, from our own records, without personal details.
How we use it
- to run your account and show your progress;
- to choose what to practice next and when to review;
- to send account emails, such as confirming your address or resetting your password;
- to handle your subscription;
- to keep Cosynced secure and improve our courses.
Who processes it for us
- Google Cloud: hosting, storage and our database.
- Stripe: payments and subscriptions.
- Resend: sending email.
- PostHog: product analytics, as described above.
- Google Gemini: helping creators turn their material into courses. Learner answers and progress are not sent to it.
Each processes data only to provide its service to us. We do not share your data with anyone else unless the law requires it.
Your choices
You can update your name and see or end your sessions from your account. You can cancel your subscription at any time. To get a copy of your data, correct it or delete your account, write to team@cosynced.com. We keep account data while your account is open and delete it when you ask us to, except what we must keep by law, such as payment records.
Children
Cosynced is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
